36 new COVID-19 cases, 5 new deaths reported Wednesday in South Dakota
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - The South Dakota Department of Health reported 36 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday.
The new cases bring the state’s total case count to 124,227, 121,908 of which are considered recovered by the department of health. The state also reported a decrease in active cases. Currently, 300 cases are considered active, a decrease of more than 80 cases from Tuesday.
According to the South Dakota Department of Health, 352,451 South Dakotans have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine shot. 303,058 South Dakotans have received both shots needed for maximum immunization from the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. 20,329 South Dakotans have received the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
Five new deaths were reported Wednesday. The state’s death toll now stands at 2,019.
