SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - The South Dakota Department of Health reported 20 new COVID-19 cases in the state Friday.

The new cases bring the state’s total case count to 124,261, 121,973 of which are considered recovered by the department of health. The state reported another decrease in active cases. Currently, 266 cases are considered active.

According to the South Dakota Department of Health, 353,878 South Dakotans have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine shot. 304,416 South Dakotans have received both shots needed for maximum immunization from the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines. 20,523 South Dakotans have received the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Two new deaths were reported Friday. The state’s death toll now stands at 2,022.
