June Eastbank Block Party kicks off DTSF Summer Season
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Last year, the June Downtown Sioux Falls Block Party was completely canceled.
While the other Block Parties in July and August did happen, they were not on the usual scale DTSF Block Parties have been known for over the past decade.
For those involved with the Downtown Sioux Falls organization, Friday’s June Block Party means even more than years past.
“We are so excited because it’s really just another symbol that we are on to the next chapter in our community, and we are excited to have so many people come out on this beautiful night and just celebrate the start of the summer,” said Sadie Swier, DTSF Community Outreach Coordinator.
People at the Block Party were able to enjoy live music, games, entertainment for the kids, along with some food trucks and cold drinks.
But many in attendance say the best part was seeing people out again and having a good time.
“Amazing you know spending a whole year at home, not doing anything, it’s good to see the community back, enjoying a good time together, seeing live bands performing, having good food, and just having that sense of togetherness again,” said Feyet Munshikpu.
Dates for additional DTSF Block Parties can be found here.
