Active COVID-19 cases drop below 200 in South Dakota Tuesday
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - The South Dakota Department of Health reported 25 new COVID-19 cases as active cases in the state dropped below 200 Tuesday.
The new cases bring the state’s total case count to 124,377, 122,165 of which are considered recovered. Active cases in the state dropped below 200 for the first time in over a year. Currently, 186 cases are considered active.
According to the South Dakota Department of Health, 360,616 South Dakotans have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine shot. 313,415 South Dakotans have received both shots needed from the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines. 21,552 South Dakotans have received the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
No deaths were reported Tuesday. The state’s death toll remains at 2,026.
