OMAHA, NE (Dakota News Now) -Mitchell native Tevyn Waddell is competing at the Olympic Swimming Trails in Omaha. Tevyn, who also swam collegiately for the Gophers swam Monday morning in the 100 meter backstroke where she moved up and placed 21st after today.

She will also swim again Friday morning in the 200 meter backstroke prelims and hopefully the semi-finals Friday night... And she’ll be on Calling All Sports Thursday afternoon. She’s always been a fun guest.

As for Aberdeen native Michael Andrew who moved away from the Hub City at about the age of 12, he set the American record in the semifinals Sunday night in the 100 Meter Breaststroke and then won in the finals Monday night by 1/100th of a second to make the Olympic team.
