ABERDEEN, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - The Aberdeen Wings left the Hub City this morning and practiced today at Fogerty Arena in Blaine, Minnesota, as they get ready to try to become the first team to repeat as NAHL champion in 12 years.

The last time the Wings skated in Fogerty ARena they skated away with the Robertson Cup.

That was 764 days ago. Between that and the pandemic, no one on the current roster was a part of that team, and this group certainly has made their own unique legacy after winning a league record 51 games during the regular season.

Yet these Wings know it’ll all ring hollow if they don’t keep the Cup in Aberdeen.

It all starts tomorrow at 4:30 tomorrow with game one of the semifinal series against the Minnesota Magicians. The best of three series continues Saturday at 4:30 and will have a decisive third game, if necessary, on Sunday at 3.

If the Wings take the series they’ll face either Maine or Shreveport in the one game, winner take all championship Tuesday.
