Canaries Blast RedHawks To End Three Game Slide
Sioux Falls now 7-4 on the road after 13-7 victory
FARGO, N.D. (Dakota News Now) - Home apparently is not where the Sioux Falls Canaries’ heart is based on how well they’ve played away from the Birdcage thus far in 2021.
24 hours after getting swept at home by Milwaukee the Canaries went up I-29 and scored six runs in the first inning at Fargo/Moorhead on their way to a 13-7 victory over the RedHawks at Newman Outdoor Field in Fargo.
The Canaries (14-14) got three homeruns from Shamoy Christopher (1), Jabari Henry (5) & Logan Landon (7). For Landon it was his fourth homerun in three games. Henry was the offensive star of the night, going 3-4 with an RBI, three runs scored and a pair of walks. Christopher also scored three runs and went 2-4 to go along with a three-run bomb in the first that put the Birds up 6-0. The Canaries outhit the RedHawks 13-11.
The maligned Sioux Falls’ bullpen actually helped save victory after the RedHawks pulled as close as one off of starter Ty Culbreth. The Canaries’ bullpen pitched five innings of one-hit baseball and did not allow a run. Charlie Hasty got the win after working three innings of relief and striking out four.
The series continues tomorrow at 7:02 PM.
