HARRISBURG & RENNER, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - With some top regional talent coming in, this weekend’s 40-team Dakota Classic should provide a good test for State & Region Legion Championship hopefuls.

Through one day of the tournament Harrisburg and Renner have passed with flying colors.

In Harrisburg Chase Mason hit a two-run homerun while teammates Jack Sutton & Ben Loos each drove in three runs to lead the host Tigers to a 13-5 victory over the Huron Tigers. Harrisburg followed that up later in the day with a 15-7 victory over 2017 American Legion World Series Runner-Up Creighton Prep.

Meanwhile at Renner Ballpark, after a 4-0 morning victory over Watertown, the Renner Royals scored in five of the six innings they batted to down Ralston (Nebraska) 6-4. Sam Stukel led the Royal offensive attack with a pair of RBI.
